- Dr. Vijay Viswanathan (Head & Chief Diabetologist, M V Hospital for Diabetes) is elected as the First Asian President of the D Foot International (which represents 193 countries in the world).
- He was elected unanimously in the elections held on 21 May 2019 late evening at Hague, Holland.
